Full Job Description

You will be required to work 30 hours, between the hours of 07:30-19:00 across 6 days on a rotational basis.

  • Greet patients and visitors to inpatient areas, directing them as appropriate and informing the relevant clinical staff of their arrival
  • Answer all telephone calls politely ensuring enquiries are dealt with appropriately and that any relevant information is passed on to the appropriate person
  • Deal with messages on the answering machine regularly and appropriately
  • Ensure all relevant details are accurately entered on to the electronic patient administration system
  • Ensure appointments are offered to patients within National statutory waiting times, escalating to the Inpatient Team Leader when this is not possible
  • Produce electronic daily clinic lists and request medical notes where necessary

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join as a receptionist/administration assistant for the Inpatient Services at MREH.
  • You will need to be highly organised and have excellent communication and customer service skills. You will provide a complete range of reception and administrative services including data input. You will liaise with all levels of clinical and administrative staff and welcome all patients and visitors to the ward/day case and pre assessment areas. The role is varied and challenging. You must enjoy working with the general public and be a team player. A conscientious and pro-active approach is key to this role as well as a friendly personality and a mature and confident outlook.
