Full Job Description
Head and Neck are looking for a friendly efficient team member to be the front line of welcoming our patients across the services.
As a receptionist will need to be methodical, support the efficient running of the Out-patient clinics. Empathetic, and understanding at all times.
You will be dealing with patients on a daily basis face to face or on the telephone. You will also be assisting with supporting the admin and clinical teams with Prepping notes, inputting data and booking appointments.
You will be rota's in over a period of up to 5 days to accommodate the needs of the service., To provide an efficient reception service to patients, relatives, carers, and all staff groups
Greet patients who attend the Outpatient departments, ensuring all relevant information is up-to-date and correct.
Answer all telephone queries and escalate to appropriate staff where unable to answer the patients concerns.
Provide general administrative service on reception and as required by the department, ensuring all paperwork is completed and inputted into the correct systems.
Transferring patient records and locating them from other areas
Photocopy, faxing and posting documentation.
Update all databases accordingly.
Make patient appointments
Liaise with other departments and Trusts

At Northampton General Hospital we provide general acute services and hyper-acute stroke, vascular and renal services to people living in Northamptonshire. As well as this we are an accredited cancer centre and provide cancer services to a wider population of Northamptonshire and parts of Buckinghamshire.
