Gastroenterology Department is a busy and interesting work environment, based in the Quadram Institute. The unit is a centre of excellence providing a variety of endoscopy procedures both diagnostic and therapeutic to a population of 750,000 people., We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to join our established Reception Team. The post holder will provide a high-quality reception and support service within the Outpatients Department, and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust. In order to provide a support service to the technical staff, a versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post. The receptionist is responsible for ensuring the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), observing the rules of 'real time data entry'. You will be inputting code onto PAS for all RTT, HRG and local procedures. All aspects of this role should be carried out in line with the Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality. Confidentiality in all matters is of the utmost importance. Interview date: 11 October 2024Main duties of the job Hours of work: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 - 18:00, Friday 07:30 - 18:00. To carry out receptionist duties, including prioritising and arranging appointments and maintaining the various appointment systems, identifying test requests and investigations, and co-ordinating the various clinics within the department To deal with patients and external and internal staff enquiries in person or via the telephone, in a courteous and confidential manner and provide assistance as required Good working knowledge of PAS and the ability to undertake RTT recording as appropriate. Record all relevant information to Trust guidelines in line with Information Governance and policies.
