Receptionist - Ophthalmology

An enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking and flexible person is required to assist with the smooth running of this busy department. The postholder will be expected to provide an efficient, friendly and welcoming service to the patients as they arrive at reception. The successful candidate will: -

• Provide support to the technical, secretarial, medical and nursing staff of the Department.
• Carry out receptionist duties, including prioritising and arranging appointments and maintaining the various appointment systems, identifying test requests and investigations and coordinating the various clinics within the department.
• Deal with patients and external and internal staff enquiries in person or via the telephone, in a courteous and confidential manner and provide assistance as required.
You will be trained to use the electronic patient system (PAS), along with all relevant administrative skills and will contribute to and support a very busy, committed and hard-working team.For full details and competencies required, please see job description. The successful candidate will be expected to work on set days during the week (Monday to Friday) as well as occasional weekend / evening duties when required.
