Full Job Description

Pre-operative Assessment is a nurse led clinic which is at the heart of the elective surgical pathway. Within this role as an experienced receptionist you will be responsible for the management of the daily clinical template working with your line manager and administrative colleagues to ensure all available appointments are correctly utilised. Within the role you will be liaising and booking appointments via the waiting list teams and any additional patients that the department has been asked to see. Good communication skills, time management and a good work ethic along with a sense of humour and pride are essential.,

  • To book all patients appointments on to the patient cenrtre system as they are received from emailed correspondence via telephone conversations or emails with the waiting list teams along with any other areas within the surgical division
  • Making sure all appointments are scheduled equally amongst all the pre-op nurses over the whole working day
  • Be able to present any potential problems to the clinical team for further input where necessary using clear and concise communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and be able to pick up other colleagues work if necessary to ensure the departmental deadlines are met, this will include supporting the case note co-ordinators when the need arises
