Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen within the Records Management Service for a Fixed Term Customer Support Assistant working 22.2 hours per week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for 6 months.
You will support teams from across Kent County Council (KCC) to access and archive KCC's modern records with duties including, but not limited to: searching for records on our records management database; ensuring the records management database is up to date and accurate; retrieving records from our external storage supplier; responding to file requests sometimes urgently; providing advice to customers on how to archive records appropriately; preparing new records for transfer to storage.
The team is made up of 2 members of staff and is managed by Libraries, Registration and Archives Business Support Service Manager. The team works closely with KCC's Records Manager and Information, Resilience and Transparency Team as well teams from across all areas of KCC but predominantly children and adult's social care.
You will have the ability to work on your own as well as within a team, working with minimal supervision you will be able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines, have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate with and support wider KCC teams and problem solve issues.
Many of the modern records KCC hold are confidential and sensitive, you will have an awareness and appreciation of basic data protection and information governance principles as well as good attention to detail and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and databases.
