Full Job Description

Post holder will be able to assist in the daily planning and organisation of the recovery area for clinical procedures of the post surgical patient. Post holder will be expected to recover patients providing individualised care and maintaining a high quality evidence based clinical care. Monitor and and maintain the quality of nursing care achieving the set standards set by the department. Checking,witnessing and administration of controlled drugs. Participating in the post anaesthetic/operative care of the patients. Post holder should be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of how to use equipment safely and effectively., Receiving patients from Theatre and ensuring a complete and safe handover is given my Anaesthetist/Theatre staff. Ensuring airway management is maintained and all observations are within acceptable ranges. Pain management and control using appropriate analgesia when required. Temperature monitoring and intervention when required. Administration of all prescribed drugs including controlled drugs. An ability to use administration pumps/Pain Controlled Analgesia pumps safely and effectively. Wound care and management.
