Full Job Description

We are looking for a Recruitment and Engagement officer who will take a lead role on recruiting Foster Carers and raising the awareness of fostering in Wigan alongside the wider Foster for GM recruitment Hub. Within this role, you will also be responsible for the engagement and communications with current Foster Carers in Wigan.

You will be responsible for developing, co-ordinating and delivering campaigns, which will support the agency and their marketing team with the recruitment of Foster Carers. You will represent Wigan Council and support potential Foster Carers to access the training and assessment process to becoming approved foster carers.

About you:

You will be a motivated and innovative individual who is passionate about ensuring that Wigan's children and young people have the opportunity to live in and be cared for within family settings through fostering households.

You will be creative in your approach to developing new ways to engage with potential carers including problem solving potential barriers to fostering. You will be confident and readily able to liaise with members of the public to encourage them to consider fostering and to understand the process that underpins the assessment and approval of Foster Carers. You will have excellent communications skills to be able to create positive working relationships and networking with community drop in venues and colleagues across the Wigan Borough as well as working closely with other recruitment officers across the Greater Manchester borough.
