Full Job Description

We've got an exciting permanent opportunity, for the right person to join our team in the position of Recruitment Manager. It's a chance to redesign our approach to recruitment and make a difference to the experience our candidates and recruiting managers have.

Reporting to the Service Director for HR, Workforce Development and Occupational Health and Safety, you'll play a key role leading on the development, design and implementation of the Council's approach to recruitment and talent sourcing, while providing high quality recruitment advice, coaching and guidance to the HR Team and recruiting managers. We want you to bring your creativity and expertise to Gateshead Council and develop a way to attract and recruit that's engaging, yet simple and informative, and that sets us apart from others.

The role

You'll have experience of developing recruitment and attraction strategies and implementing new systems/ways of working, engaging key stakeholders, trade unions and colleagues. You'll have successfully demonstrated your ability to change an organisation's approach to recruitment that's delivered brilliant results. We're looking for a colleague who has an excellent understanding of the recruitment and candidate market and can use their significant experience in this area to their full advantage, continually reviewing, improving and modernising an organisation's approach. You'll make data driven decisions and produce reports highlighting the different approaches needed to improve our ability to attract, recruit and select brilliant people.

The starting salary for this role is £up to £51,515 (dependent upon experience). This is a Grade M role. There is a salary award pending.
