Full Job Description

We're proud to see all 10 local council's in Greater Manchester working together on fostering reform and a key part of this is the creation of a new Greater Manchester Fostering Hub.

This programme of work is in response to the Independent Review of Children's Social Care, and as part of that work the government published 'Stable Homes, Built on Love' which gave a commitment to delivering a regionally focused programme for fostering recruitment and retention.

The regional hub will be hosted by Rochdale Borough Council, but will work closely with colleagues across the 10 local council's in the development and delivery for all of Greater Manchester.

This is a really exciting fast paced programme of work and we are seeking to establish an innovative and creative team with a strong fostering knowledge base and a passion for fostering recruitment.

The aims of the fostering recruitment hub are:

To improve the journey from enquiry to application and approval

To boost the number of quality enquiries and build evidence of effective marketing strategies

Establish a pan-local authority approach to fostering recruitment

Underpinning this work is a regional communications campaign, Foster for Greater Manchester, that is encouraging people across Greater Manchester to foster with their local authority. It showcases real foster carers from across the city-region to tell their personal stories of fostering, dispel commonly held myths and inspire people to step forward and support local children and young people.

The work of the communications campaign will direct people to enquire with the hub, where successful candidates will build up relationships with enquiries and support them through their fostering journey.

For internal staff, secondments are welcome, please speak to your line manager if you are interested in this position, as a secondment, before you apply.

What we offer:

- We are passionate about relational practice and this underpins all of our work and practice. Relational practice is key in the recruitment and support of foster carers, so this will be a key area of focus for us.

- Flexible and agile working arrangements, so you can balance your work and home commitments.

- Bespoke leadership learning programme & Advance Practitioner Group.

- Regular supervision and a visible and supportive leadership team.

- Continual professional development, underpinned by a strong training and development offer.

- Additional retention payments and professional fees paid.
