Full Job Description

As a Refuel Driver Handler, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Ensuring the safe delivery of fuel to aviation assets. Day-to-day, you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Aircraft refuelling, aircraft handling, aircraft starting procedures, general driving duties and other tasks as deemed necessary/appropriate by the shift supervisors or the Babcock Site Management Team.
  • Refuel Vehicle preparation, fuel testing and other tasks as deemed necessary/appropriate by the shift supervisors or the Babcock Site Management Team.
  • Conduct duties in accordance with military regulations utilising a variety of equipment both civilian and military. All duties to be conducted in reference to approved Safe Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Act as part of a team providing refuel and de-fuel support to both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Aircraft handling and Flight Line duties using provided equipment, operated in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Vehicle First and Last Parades (daily checks). Reporting any unserviceability's to the Airfield MT (Refuel) Supervisor.
  • This role is full time and based onsite at Middle Wallop. The role is required to work an average of 40 hours per week based on a 2-week approved shift pattern (currently 9 in 14 days). Due to the nature of support to the Military there may be short notice changes to the flying programme and some tasks may require extended hours, overtime and limited weekend work, as much notice of these requirements will be provided but a flexible approach will be required in a successful candidate.

  • C+E driving licence is essential. Or HGV
  • ADR or Hazmat preferred. - Training available

    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
