Full Job Description
Serco's Environmental Services provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents in the local community. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse and Recycling workers, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy whilst providing the very best levels of customer service to all members of the community that we serve. And right now, we have an opportunity for a like-minded individual to join our team of essential key workers and help us make a positive difference to the environment we all live and work in. You will support supervisors by directly overseeing and organising refuse and cleaning operations as a chargehand. As part of this you'll:
- Issue work instructions to operational staff and monitoring staff performance, reporting all under performance and non-compliance
- Organise staff working rotas and arrange holiday and sickness cover
- Drive of LGV's
- Be required to be on an out of hours rota
- Need to occasionally cover Supervisor holiday and sickness and any other duties as required.
You will hold an HGV licence or be willing to undertake training to obtain your HGV licence. You will have good organisational and people management skills. A supervisory / management qualification or training is desirable, but not essential. Experience within the waste industry is a must. You will be confident with using computers, Microsoft excel and completing spreadsheets. - The opportunity to make a real difference to the quality of life in our communities
