Full Job Description

The site Head of Finance provides leadership in all aspects of accounting and financial operation functions for the Peli BioThermal entities outside the US (UK and Asia). The position holder guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing global financial controls and procedures across the entities under supervision. The incumbent supports operations management by ensuring consistent reporting of the financial results, enabling budgeting and forecasting efforts on sites and assuring proper operational procedures are in place. He or she represents PBT with external organizations and regulatory agencies outside of the US (e.g. auditors, tax authorities, industry and territory regulators).
Our Role

  • Assure proper and timely month-end closing procedures and accurate monthly reporting of all financial information to the Divisional Corporate Controller.

  • Ensure that all tax filings and reporting aspects are in accordance with all relevant statutory and government requirements.

  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and present financial information and variances at the monthly management meeting.

  • Administer general ledger activity, including reconciliations, and all journal entries including accounts receivable, inventory, prepay expenses and accruals.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to explain impacts of decisions on financial performance of the business & implement global financial and operational controls, policies and procedures at each site.

  • Manage local financial audits and related audit deliverables including the preparation of the statutory financial statement for the UK and Asia entities.

  • Ensure continuous improvement process for SAP reporting and establishing business process procedures documentation for the finance department.

  • Manage and mentor the UK functional Finance team day to day, approve holiday requests, conduct performance reviews, participate in hiring decisions, create and deliver training plans for subordinates.

  • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


  • This is a site-based role, located in Leighton Buzzard. Commutable from Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Luton, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance from accredited university. Master's degree preferred.

  • CPA or CMA associate.

  • Total accounting/finance experience of 7-10 years with at least 4 years managing accounting organizations independently.

  • Experience with SAP, SAC and Power BI is strongly preferred.

  • International experience is strongly preferred.

  • Cost accounting experience within Manufacturing or Service business.

  • Expertise operating and process design in Medium to Large ERP systems (SAP preferred)

  • Must have excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Results driven, dynamic individual with hands-on approach.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, dedicated to continuous improvement., Demonstrates leadership skills and interacts effectively and collaboratively with employees at all levels and all functional areas within the company.

  • Possesses expertise in a variety of financial concepts, practices and procedures, can articulate them clearly at all levels of the organization.

  • Must have excellent analytical, presentational and organizational skills.

  • Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measures results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.

  • Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Peli's brand and reputation.

  • Actively supports and complies with Peli's objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.

  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours.
