Responsible for the planning, managing, and monitoring of all plant operations within a specific region that contribute to the profitable performance of the UK business in accordance with corporate strategy, goals and objectives. Also responsible for optimising the performance of the assets (investments/resources) ensuring that each branch in the region achieves specific goals in terms of customer service and operational service delivery (i.e. profits, support of sales growth, customer satisfaction, customer retention and satisfaction). The Regional Manager is a multi-faceted, solution focused and driven operations professional responsible for coaching plant processing teams to optimise their personal performance and individual development. The Regional Manager understands financial control and business development and maintains and enforces company policies, standards, and practices and ensures consistent implementation and adherence to the Company's Mission, Vision and Values.Key Job Activities: Ensure that all sites are managed and supported in a timely manner and in a condition appropriate to their use. Ensuring that the region is operating safely, productively and efficiently at all times. Manage plant operations in line with appropriate legislation including engineering, PLC, H&S, maintenance, standard operating procedures, working time directive and site permit licence requirements. Lead maintenance team to ensure the delivery of proactive/preventative maintenance solutions in line with best practice and efficient reactive repair techniques when required. To provide robust leadership and direction to ensure the smooth and seamless operation of the Region and maintain communications and personal contact with Managers (and staff), as appropriate, to ensure the effectiveness of operations support. To liaise with regulatory bodies in relation to all appropriate service activities and ensure operational compliance of plant facilities and permit obligations. Monitor branch performance reporting and take action to identify areas of concern, rectify the causes of under-achievement. and identify and manage opportunities to improve the performance of the Region. Implement a policy of continuous improvement and develop, present and implement new ideas to improve the scope and quality of service delivery standards. Responsibility for regional expenditure and business planning to ensure that financial budgets/future capex requirements are managed and controlled in strict accordance with Stericycle's financial policies and procedures. Ensure that the site management teams are engaged in supporting the financial requirements and goals of the business including effective cost control, supporting AR functions, revenue, profit. Provide clear direction and leadership to all team members through the provision of objectives, responsibilities and accountabilities, managing performance accordingly. Develop and foster a positive & high performing culture with the region and encouraging teamwork, which will support with the identification of talent within these functions and support their development within the region. Work closely with the Operations Leadership Team in the preparation of annual budgets and updates through the provision of accurate information. Support with the development of strategic plans and to support the communication and execution of these strategies across the Region. Drive compliance and performance standards with the centralised engineering and service desk teams. Continue with identification of new technologies and automation projects in order to increase efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness.
Required Education: Associate's or equivalent. Preferred Education: Bachelor's or equivalent. Required: COTC or Engineering qualification. Preferred: Business Degree.Experience (EMEAA): Experience managing a large region of manufacturing operational centres would be highly beneficial. Demonstrable track record in managing plant processes and extensive knowledge in the specialized field. 5 years' experience managing teams of different expertise (25-50 employees). Experience working within a regional role. Proven track record of managing multi-site operations and delivery customer service solutions in line with contractual obligations. At least 3 years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment. Financial and commercial acumen, proven experience managing P&L. Strong technical knowledge / background. Engineering and systems awareness. Demonstrate strong health and safety leadership. Planning & organisation skills. Ability to review and analyse complex financial/business reports/data and generate innovative solutions/corrective action plans. Strong interpersonal skills. Confidently deal with a multitude of projects and changing priorities. Experience of managing capital projects. Strong Microsoft Office skills, data entry ability, and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and statistical tools. Excellent presentation skills. Strong coach and leader with exceptional eye for detail ensuring the highest levels of productivity and efficiency. Strong negotiating skills.Certifications and/or Licenses: Drivers Licence
