Full Job Description

As Regional Metallurgist Engineer you're a key member of the Global Supplier Quality Team, reporting to the EMEA Quality Director. You will contribute to the success of Ball by supporting and leading material - related projects and initiatives to improve product quality across the region.,

  • Manage the material change control and trials process ensuring all the relevant documentation is maintained and processes followed correctly ensuring lowest possible risk to customers.


  • To focus suppliers' technical resources on development and improvement activities critical to the company's business strategies. Lead metal-related projects to improve process and product quality.


  • Support the global and regional development engineering teams to optimum metal usage efficiency, metals conversion efficiency, finished container and line performances are obtained from all metals suppliers.


  • Work with suppliers, internal resources and external laboratories to ensure thorough investigations lead to improved performance.


  • Negotiate and manage regional supplier specifications including Ball plant and line requirements.


  • Provide technical support in the investigation of customer complaints and support supplier technical audits.


  • Participate in plant operations, troubleshooting, quality investigations (8d) and support to achieve the best possible output and high quality standards


  • Maintain close control on product standardization.


  • Liaising and leading cross functional teams, both internal and external to ensure favourable qualification outcomes, learnings and specification refinement.

    Degree in Metallurgy or Engineering with Metallurgy


  • Previous experience of working in the Aluminium and/or Steel manufacturing industry.


  • Understanding of metals and materials engineering.


  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles.


  • Demonstrated success in global projects or initiatives.


  • Proficiently in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office .


  • Fluency in written and spoken English.


  • Use of statistical tools as SPC, Six Sigma, Minitab
