We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Regional Pharmacist to join our team in the North West Region. This role is a multi-functional role working across 8 sites supporting the pharmacy teams in their development and the smooth running of pharmacy services. The sites this role cover HMP Thorn Cross HMP Risley HMP Preston HMP Kirkham HMP Altcourse HMP Lancaster Farms HMP Wymott (from April 2025) HMP Garth (from April 2025 Hours 3 days per week between Monday to Friday This is a hybrid role and will require regular travel to all 8 sites, As a Regional Lead Pharmacist your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work as part of the North West regional team, leading on the delivery of integrated, safe, high quality and effective pharmacy services across the region.
  • Provide aspirational professional leadership for regional pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy assistants providing expert advice and guidance, promoting best practice in medication use on sites, embedding clinical supervision and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures and statutory frame works.
  • Be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service. As part of the Regional Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Head of Healthcare and the multidisciplinary team
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations.
  • Provide daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to prisoners

    Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre-registration training
  • Have at least 5 years experience post registration
  • Ability to work effectively across a number of sites providing education, supervision and leadership to teams and colleagues to support service improvement
  • Knowledge and application of clinical governance and clinical audit

    This position is part time working 22.5 hours hours per week, youll receive an annual salary of £58,000 to £62,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience, plus a £4,000 car allowance.
