Full Job Description

  • Develop and execute energy management and sustainability strategy, including local site-level plans.
  • Implement energy and sustainability programs to reach objectives.
  • Support reporting objectives and provide management information relating to the use of utilities and the impact on the internal and external environment.
  • Manage the energy, waste, and water data collection process within the accounts technology platform and produce periodic (e.g., monthly, quarterly, annual) reports that are tailored to meet our client's specific requirements.
  • Drive operational improvements though the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance across regional portfolio and building-level perspective.
  • Collaborate with other JLL Sustainable Operations team members to share best practices, identify opportunities, and develop case studies.
  • Engage with JLL facility managers and client stakeholders to become the key point of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of environmental sustainability.
  • Drive implementation of regional and site-level sustainability plans to facility managers and client stakeholders, and provide engagement and training to support their site-level activities.
  • Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes.
  • Core Competencies
  • Strategic thinker to lead the development of strategic growth plans.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills to work with the Client's business leaders and JLL account leadership team, to drive integration that better identifies sustainability opportunities and recommend best practices.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles of sustainability within a Real Estate context, including building certification, energy & carbon management, waste & resources management, well-being and social value.
  • Experience and ability to preparing business cases, including options for capex investment and third-party finance options for the client's consideration.
  • Understanding of Global energy and sustainability initiatives including but not limited to UN Sustainable Development Goals, CDP, TCFD
  • Understanding or policies and national and local government level in the area of environmental impact and climate change.
  • Knowledge of the metrics and mechanisms for global reporting of all energy and sustainability activities, (cost savings, CO2, water, waste, etc.)
  • Manage energy benchmarking and assessment; analyze energy consumption metrics to identify opportunities and create control plans to sustain energy savings.
  • Manage identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational changes and physical building upgrades that result in reduced energy consumption (HVAC upgrades, lighting retrofits, building envelope enhancements, demand response and controls strategies, plug load management, employee engagement) and evaluating cutting edge technologies and services.
  • Compile utility budgets and energy conservation measures' cost estimates based upon documented program needs.

    Fluent written and spoken English required.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter, team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion and analysis.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Confident in working cross functionally within a matrix organisation, University Degree (Science, engineering, math or related fields)
  • Technical understanding of the most common HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems
  • In-depth understanding of energy and water conservation measures
  • Experienced with building and sustainability certifications including WELL, LEED, BREEAM
  • Experienced with benchmarking and analyzing utility data to drive sustainability measures
  • In-depth understanding of Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reporting
  • Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus
  • Demonstrable experience delivering energy & carbon reductions across a large and diverse portfolio.
  • Requirements - Desirable
  • Experience conducting site walkthroughs in order to find conservation measures (e.g., ASHRAE Level 1 and 2)
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
  • Experience in the preparation of tenders and work orders and the ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendors
  • Knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management and energy budgets, an environmental improvement program, and ISO 14001 / ISO50001 compliance.
  • Familiarity with energy procurement process and renewable energy options
