Full Job Description
We are looking to offer a Regional Transport Manager the opportunity to join our expanding Compliance team based in North Wales., As the Regional Transport Manager you will work on our MWS Welsh Water contract and be responsible for road going transport vehicle and driver compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring effective and continuous control is being maintained of M Group Services commercial vehicles & assets in your region, paying particular attention to those vehicles on the Operator Licence you will be named on, ensuring no business unit breach the margin on the licence at any operating centre.,
- Responsible for implementing continuous and effective management control of commercial vehicles & drivers in line with undertakings, building & maintaining a good working relationship with your Line Manager & wider stakeholders to ensure road transport operations are delivered in line with current Policies.
- Responsible for ensuring you support, advice & guide your business unit on all aspects of Transport Operations, Occupational Road Risk & any Transport accreditations. You must ensure all Managers/Supervisors within your Business Unit responsible for putting vehicles and drivers to work comply with M Group Services Transport Operations Policy's.
- Responsible for ensuring commercial drivers' complete induction & compliance records are maintained in accordance with GTO Policies & available for audit.
- Responsible for ensuring all vehicles are on Key 2/MID, scheduled maintenance events are completed on agreed date/time and comply with DVSA's guide to maintaining roadworthiness and Company Policy's
- Responsible for ensuring commercial drivers complete daily 'checks on vehicles and report any defects found as per Policy and data is analysed for non-compliance or trends, with any training gaps closed out accordingly.
- Responsible for ensuring HGV commercial vehicle drivers undertake training on drivers' hours and complete daily records via the digital tachograph card as per Policy and data is analysed on vision for non-compliance.
- Responsible for working with the business unit to ensure telematics are fitted to vehicles, data is monitored & analysed for Infringements to improve road safety and compliance as part of our initiative across M Group Services.
- Responsible for ensuring a monthly KPI report is produced for your regional area as per the agreed template, identifying areas of risk or non-compliance.
National CPC Holder, with experience of managing a large diverse fleet. - Strong fleet background and experience in dealing with complex issues and or requirements.
- Capability to take ownership, responsibility, and work as part of a team to deliver high standards, which will be demonstrated though actions/ behaviors.
- Must have a strong commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
- Must have the ability to prioritise workload and be able to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other platforms
- Must have category B Driving Licence as a minimum and be able to travel with some overnight's in hotels
