Full Job Description

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Utilities Lead to join our Highways team covering the North of England. As a Regional Utilities Lead, you will be tasked with aligning and managing the utilities team in the North of England in the pre-construction and construction phases of highways schemes within the business, ensuring commercial robustness within utilities and within the North of England of Balfour Beatty highway projects. Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage, and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play.What you'll be doing

  • Identify any pre-construction scope within each scheme (with respect to Utilities) and agree the scope with the Project Director.
  • Resource the project to deliver the scope of works in agreement with the Project Director for each scheme, with budget accountability for each project.
  • Identify contestable vs non-contestable works when considering approach to Utilities diversions.
  • Ensure that Risks are inserted into the risk register for each project.
  • The role requires the individual to audit each project in the portfolio to ensure that the BMS procedures are being adhered to on each scheme.
  • Co-operation and co-ordination with the Regional Utilities Lead in the South of England to ensure a single business process through the highways business, including creating training content.

    Takes ownership of tasks and communicates outcomes with clarity, direction, and purpose, including managing others in this regard.
  • Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights if required.
  • Able to frequently work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility and lead and manage others
  • Holds a current driving license
  • Able and willing to make decisions following consideration of options based on best available information.
  • Provision of assistance and expert knowledge to reinforce the objectives of the work winning teams., EUSR (Cat 1 Genny Training)
