Registered Building Inspector

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Registered Building Inspector, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.,

• To support the provision of an excellent building control service to applicants and clients, landowners, residents, community groups, amenity groups and other interested parties.
• To supervise and co-ordinate the day to day activities of a plan checking and site inspections team, ensuring technical and legal compliance with the Building Acts and Building Regulations in accordance with performance targets.
• To carry an appropriate application case load, and to supervise or be directly responsible for the more complex building projects within the team.
• To advise on building control matters including representing the Council at appeals, court cases and other public hearings arising from the works of the service.
• To inform the Councils response on complex or sensitive cases
  
  A BTEC qualification, Degree or equivalent in a building construction related subject.
• Significant appropriate post qualification experience in Building Control.
• Ability and experience of managing a team including the monitoring of workloads, priorities and performance.
• Experience and knowledge of providing robust and defendable responses and decisions on legal and technical building control issues and other matters.
