Full Job Description

Manage a Residential Home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose for the home.

-Assist and supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people and to identify and prepare specific development plans to ensure the most appropriate service provision.

-Co-ordinate and monitor staffing levels within the home to ensure that individual needs are met.

-Ensure that the standards within the home are maintained and developed in line with the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Children's Homes Regulations 2001.

-Maintain a clean and safe environment paying particular attention to Health and Safety legislation and environmental health needs.

-To work proactively with monitoring bodies to ensure that services are developing beyond the set standards.

Amisfield House offers spacious, homely accommodation and will be a place of excellencecare and education for pupils with learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum conditions and complex additional needs.

Located in Halifax, Amisfield contains 7 bedrooms supporting young adults from ages 8 to 17. We will channel the talents and value the potential of every child and young person in our care and prepare them for happy and productive lives as young adults.

  • DipSW, CQSW, NVQ 3/4/5 in Working with Young People / adult Management or a willingness to work towards this.

  • Proven experience at Senior level in a Residential Home for adults/young people

  • Able to demonstrate advanced practice skills and experience in managing challenging behaviour.

  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of CQC fundamental working standards and regulations.

  • Working knowledge of the National Care Standards, Care Act and Regulations.

  • Good attention to detail and work to high standards.

  • Work using own initiative, taking full ownership.
