Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a positive, proactive, experienced RMN to join our Team at the Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) - Mausdley Hospital on a six months secondment.

The HBPoS service is the single point of admission in the trust for all persons requiring care in a hospital-based place of safety. It operates from a specially designed unit situated at the Maudsley Hospital on a 24/7 basis and staffed by a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

The multi-disciplinary team is dynamic and diverse, including RMNs, CSWs, an OT, doctors and experienced consultants who work closely to ensure better patients outcomes.

Working as part of the clinical team the post holder will make appropriate use of the latest evidence-based practice to deliver person centered care within the team and across all inpatient wards. The post holder with be part of the Quality Improvement ethos to work with the team to continually improve the service to enable the best possible patient outcomes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver high quality safe nursing care, ensuringconsistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.

You will provide care for presenting service users from initial contact and assessment, formulating and delivering care plans, and evaluation of care. You will assess the risks and needs of service users to plan and evaluate care using a collaborative approach with service users and their carers. Providing accurate information about care in an accessible format to patients and their relatives

The post holder will co-ordinate a first-class service that includes assessment and monitoring of physical health, maintaining service users' rights, supervising junior staff and students, working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment and accurate records.

Currently, provide inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; as well as substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich.
