Are you looking to be part of an innovative, exciting, and dynamic team with a drive to improve our increasing clinical services?, The post holder will work as part of a team to provide safe, effective, efficient care for patients, relatives, and carers in an Outpatient setting.

As part of the Outpatient team, you will be focused on patient care, always aiming for good patient experience, to provide a high standard of care to patients, whilst always maintaining their privacy and dignity, to assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care and to contribute to supporting the Junior Sister/Senior Sister.

You will support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area, actively promoting and maintaining self-development and contributing to the support the Senior nursing team to maintain/improve and develop high standards of patient care, and thereby ensuring that the patients are treated with privacy, dignity, and respect.

Our Outpatient Department facilitates & supports a wide range of specialist clinics and nurse led clinics. We are looking for newly qualified and experienced band 5 registered nurses to join our friendly, supportive team, and offer an opportunity to work within a varied area covering many specialities. The Outpatient Department cover 3 areas at Pontefract Hospital. The specialities covered in clinic include Breast Care, Oncology, General Surgery, Vascular, ENT, Urology, Neurology, Respiratory, Cardiology and other specialities.

We are looking for hard working individuals who are both flexible and versatile in their approach to work to join our excellent, supportive, and friendly team. You must be able to work well under pressure in an adapting environment. You will be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills. You will possess a positive attitude and constructive towards change.

You will participate in the day-to-day running of the department, providing support to all services following induction and ongoing support. You will be expected to develop and maintain good and organisational skills, whilst acting as a positive role model and provide an environment conducive to the support of the Healthcare Assistants, and other members of staff in the department at that time, whilst enhancing the patients journey & experience.

We provide care and support to over a million people in Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, community settings and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (Wakefield).
