Full Job Description

This is an exciting time for the Dermatology Unit at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust. An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse post, within our established Dermatology team. Our dynamic, motivated team of nurses work across our trust sites to provide the highest standards of evidence-based care to patients and relatives. This post will provide expert care for patients' undergoing treatment of chronic skin conditions and suspected skin cancers while guiding development and planning of service delivery for this patient group. The role will be split across our Pinderfields and Pontefract sites

This clinically based role; will require you to complete the speciality specific competences in areas such as phototherapy, patch testing, diphencyprone, chaperoning clinics, assisting minor procedure sessions and is the ideal opportunity for registered nurses.to extend their role further

We are looking for self- motivated, enthusiastic nurses with experience health care services who are keen to further develop their knowledge and skills, and who will welcome the exciting and varied opportunities this role will provide

Main duties of the job

This role will involve treating patients with chronic skin conditions, suspected skin cancers and acute onset dermatology emergencies:

phototherapy

iontophoresis

diphencyprone

patch tests

education clinics for specific skin conditions

photodynamic therapy

chaperone of clinics

assisting in minor procedure sessions

We provide care and support to over a million people in Wakefield and Kirklees in their homes, community settings and across our three hospital sites at Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields (Wakefield).
