Full Job Description

The role of the Nursing Associate is to work with the multi professional team and the Registered Nurse contributing to the ongoing assessment, providing and monitoring care in line with the service pathways and as agreed with supervising clinician(s). They will monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with the multi-professional team.
The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate will help to bridge the gap between Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses by working independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
Nursing Associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment; and will act in accordance with the NMC Code: Professional standards of practice and behavior for nurses, midwives and nursing associates., + To utilise and further enhance existing skills which enable the post holder to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care within sphere of responsibility.
+ To ensure all patients receive high quality patient care.
+ Demonstrate an extensive knowledge base of practice in relation to Day Surgery.
+ To assist in the management and organisation of work in the clinical area.
+ To always act in a manner consistent with the NMC Code carrying out his/her duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
+ Provide the delivery of evidence-based nursing care by providing expert clinical assessment, care planning, care delivery, care evaluation and clinical advice in accordance with NMC Code.
+ Ensure all records relating to patient care are accurate, clear, concise, legible and in accordance with the NMC.
+ Actively assess and manage risk within the clinical area.
+ Ensure adherence to the Trust Medicines Policy and the NMC Standards for medicines management.
+ Participate in the teaching and supervision of other members of staff under the direction of the Team Leader.
+ Support the Clinical Governance systems to delivering high quality of care.
