Full Job Description

With the guidance of the Band 7 Dental Lead Nurse

  • To create, develop and maintain an effective learning environment in clinical practice.
  • To support the development and utilisation of staff development programs.
  • Provide a support system for senior and junior staff, in order to assist their development in lifelong learning.
  • To be responsible, in some clinical teaching sessions for the provision of care and safety of the patients.
  • Assist staff in their role in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical competencies and advancing practice.
  • To be an expert in the area of Dental Nursing, maintain professional competence and act as a role model for staff in relation to best practice and delivery of patient care.
  • With an evidenced based approach, develop standards of care for dental nursing.

    someone who is well-organised, driven, compassionate and enthusiastic. You should have significant post-registration Dental nursing experience.
  • You will be well supported by the senior nursing team including the Matron but you should be confident to work autonomously, plan your own workload and interact with a multi-disciplinary range of professionals. Some self-directed study will be expected in order to maintain your own competence and ensure you are teaching and delivering best practice.
