Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a band 5 Staff Nurse in Nuclear medicine has arisen. This will initially be on a 6 month secondment (potentially extended to 9 months)

The post is to provide some support in the department, and assist with radionuclide administrations to help free up our technologists, radiographers and nurses for a clinical trial.

Training will be provided and you will be fully supported by the substantive nursing team.

Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

Main duties of the job

1. Accountable for own professional actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.

2. To administer radioactive and non-radioactive pharmaceuticals required to perform Nuclear Medicine imaging and non-imaging investigations.

3. To participate in some aspects of the nuclear cardiology stressing service, working in conjunction with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Technologists and Consultants.

4. A skilled practitioner providing support to the management team.

5. To promote a patient focused, multidisciplinary approach to caring for patients and their carers attending the Nuclear Medicine department.
