Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join the Rheumatology teambased in Nevill Hall Hospital. If you are a highly motivated, dynamic individual with excellent caring and communication skills we would welcome your application.

To be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care in connection with the Rheumatology day case service.

To contribute to the smooth running of the Rheumatology day units at NHH and YYF, through acceptance of agreed additional responsibilities.

To act in accordance with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct., To work closely with, and assist, the Nurse Specialist in the running of theRheumatology day case units, including the assessment and monitoringof patients receiving rheumatology, Biologic, and Osteoporosis therapies.Assist the Nurse Specialist in the development of a nurse-led service toassess and monitor patients suitable for rheumatology, Biologic andOsteoporosis therapies.Work particularly closely with the nursing and medical staff of wards withrheumatology in-patients to provide an integrated service forRheumatology patients.To assist in developing an environment which supports the value ofnursing care.To take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery andevaluation of patient care within Rheumatology.Educate patients and/or carers to administer subcutaneous injections.To be committed to and take responsibility for the quality of care delivered.To liaise and communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team inthe planning and delivery of patient care, during an episode
of care.To be aware of and demonstrate practice based on current advances innursing.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
