Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse within the new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (UECC) facility at Scarborough Hospital. As the registered nurse you will be responsible for supporting the care of patients within the UECC. The UECC consists of both the Emergency Department and Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU). The EAU comprises of the short stay area and frailty assessment unit.
The ED nurse will be required to extend their skill set to caring for adult and paediatric patients in an emergency care setting.
Within the Emergency Assessment Unit you will be responsible for working across all areas. The aim of each area is to see treat and discharge patients with a robust plan in place from all members of the MDT.
All roles require a highly motivated nurse who has the ability to work under their own initiative but also as part of a team. This is a 24 hour service therefore shift work will be expected., Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
