Full Job Description

As our new Nursing Associate, you would be welcomed into a safe and supportive multidisciplinary staff team that would empower and encourage you to be the best version of yourself for the benefit of those we care for. On a day-to-day basis, the role involves working with registered nurses and the wider multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with service needs and service-users' mental and physical health needs, as agreed with supervising clinicians. Working hours would involve shifts, including some nights, weekends and bank holidays., As a Nursing Associate on Inpatients, your responsibilities would include:

  • Providing compassionate, safe and effective care and support to service-users to improve and maintain their mental, physical and behavioural health and wellbeing.
  • Monitoring the condition and contributing to the ongoing assessment of the health needs of service-users on a continual basis in partnership with other professionals, families, and carers.
  • Using knowledge and experience to make evidence-based decisions and solve problems.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Providing training and support to healthcare assistants and other staff as required.

    You must be a Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register and have at least a Level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice.
  • Previous experience of working in a care setting would be an advantage, as would an interest in mental health. The survey has shown that staff overwhelmingly believe that their role makes a difference to service users, to the extent that HPFT had the best score nationally for this question., The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills, as well as the ability to think quickly and act in a calm and sensible manner. They will also need an understanding of relational security and be prepared to model and promote the Trust's values at all times.,
  • Previous experience of working within a health/care setting, Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development
  • understand the roles of a range of professionals and carers from other organisations and settings who may be participating in the care of a person and their family
  • understand responsibilities in relation to communication and collaboration., Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice
  • GCSEs Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Desirable criteria
  • QCF in Care/Health and Social Care Level 2/3 or equivalent experience, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
