Interviews for this position will require face-to-face attendance at an Assessment Centre on the 7th September 2024. We are not able to accomodate requests for alternative dates or remote interviews.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council is the regulator for nursing and midwifery professions in the UK. Applicants that don't currently have the required registration will not be shortlisted.
Are you a Registered Children's Nurse/Paramedic who enjoys working in a fast past and demanding environment? Are you seeking a position where you can develop your skills in the assessment and care of children with a range of clinical conditions?
We are seeking both full and part time Registered Children's Nurses to join our team.
Key aspects of the role include:

  • Being responsible for the delivery of high quality, compassionate patient centred care, by prioritising patients using your expert clinical knowledge. Skilled in assessment, planning, implementation and the re-evaluation of care, you will guide the patient through their journey in the department.

  • Being responsible for ensuring the environment and equipment is clean, maintained, tidy and well stocked, confirming the department is prepared for every eventuality. You will act at all times in accordance within the codes of your governing bodies (NMC) and local standards of care and policies., The department offers a wide range of emergency services including minor injuries, adult, children's and a level 2 trauma unit. You will work the majority of your shifts within the Paediatric area of the Emergency Department but at times you will support other areas within the Emergency Department and across the trusts Paediatric Services which will enable you to develop your specialist skill set and knowledge base.

  • This post is challenging but will provide you with varied experience and opportunities for professional development within a friendly and supportive team. Training and opportunities to broaden your experience will be available as appropriate.

Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training record.
    If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy which has an annual cost of £13. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
    Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
