Full Job Description
Are you looking for a change or start in career, but worried you will become 'de-skilled' in a Community Hospital? Think again! Here at Wokingham, we have two inpatient wards, caring for adults with a wide variety sub-acute medical and post-surgical conditions. Our patient cohort is referred from both acute and community settings. Without immediate access to acute investigations, we use multiple 'Point of Care Testing' systems to support the care of our patients. Our diverse range of staff are skilled in appropriate management of patients supporting them to remain in the community setting, whilst also escalating as appropriate to ensure their safety. BHFT actively encourages the development of our staff, and as a result our team of RNs have the opportunity to follow the career path suitable to them - this can be developing autonomous nursing skills, management skills, or supporting you to be the best Registered Nurse you can be. We also encourage and support newly qualified staff to apply and join the team and the Trust offer a great preceptorship programme. The unit is based in Wokingham close to shops and public transport for easy commuting, and Wokingham Community Hospital staff are eligible for 'fringe London weighting' under agenda for change, which equates to an additional 5% of your basic NHS salary, and free staff parking on our Hospital site.,
- Work closely as part of the Multi Disciplinary Team for the care of patients requiring medical and rehabilitation support, predominantly post an acute hospital stay.
- Responsible for the assessment of care needs, development and implementation of patient centered care. Promoting independence and safe discharge home.
- Nurse led unit.
- Working with junior members of staff in all aspects of patient care, participating in training and support.
