Full Job Description

Working within the council's Crematorium and Cemetery Service, to be responsible for the administration, organisation and day-to-day management and control of burials, cremations, memorial management, and grounds maintenance task of the service.,

  • To receive from Clients, Customers and Managers details of funeral requirements and ensure work is organised and instructions are issued to appropriate staff.
  • To assist the Senior Officer in the management of the staff, resources & administration, and to ensure that service objectives and performance targets are achieved in seven cemeteries and the crematorium.

  • Specific technical knowledge and experience of working in a crematorium and cemetery environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills will be needed in delegating and prioritising workloads effectively and to deadlines.
  • Customer care skills in relation to members of the public, stakeholders e.g. Funeral Directors, Memorial Masons and other council colleagues.
