Join our team as a Registration Officer! Are you looking for a fast-paced, varied role where you can make a real difference to people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic person to join our team as a Registration Officer.You will spend most of your time in face-to-face customer appointments, registering births, deaths, and still-births, and taking notices of marriage and civil partnership. You will work in a fast-paced environment, with back-to-back appointments every 30-45 minutes. This is a busy and varied role in which you will meet people who may display a range of different emotions.Providing exceptional customer experience, you will ensure registrations are completed within legal frameworks and timescales. Once fully trained, you will also work in the Registration Hub, assisting with complex registration matters. At a later stage you will be trained to carry out marriage and civil partnership ceremonies., Work location: Base office: Witney Registration Office with regular weekly travel to Oxford Register Office, and some travel to Bicester and Banbury Registration Offices.You will be required to work anywhere in the county, based on operational needs, so you will need the ability to travel to different locations at short notice. Hours per week: 37 Working hours are 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:30 - 16:00 on Fridays.Some weekend and bank holiday working will be required to be part of an on-call rota for urgent registrations, for which additional payment will be made. Please note - flexible working is not available for this role, as the principal task is to conduct customer-facing appointments, which are legally required to take place face-to-face and in a Registration Office.     You will enjoy engaging with members of the public at pivotal times in their lives. You will apply complex legislation and explain it in a way that is clear to the general public. You will be confident in using IT packages (training will be given in Registration software).You will use your initiative in combination with guidance from experienced colleagues, to solve problems and achieve the required outcome for customers. You will be flexible as situations and places of work may change at relatively short notice.
