We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries and we are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments that you require., Job Title: Registry Administrator (Student, Course & Schools Administration) FIXED TERM CONTRACT Faculty/Directorate: Academic Registry Grade: D Location: High Wycombe/Uxbridge (dependent on allocated School(s) Hours: Full Time Responsible to: Allocated Registry Officer (Student, Course & Schools Administration) Responsible for: None Job Purpose: The postholder is responsible for providing administrative support for the University's student and academic administration processes in relation to the student experience and the delivery of programmes. The post holder will be required to be proactive and flexible in delivering support to partners, academics and students and be able to operate under pressure. The purpose of the job description is to indicate the general level of responsibility: the duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character or level of responsibility. The postholder will practice an inclusive approach and support building an inclusive university community where people can be themselves Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role: 1. Plan and organise tasks and meetings to provide consistent administrative support for processes designed to deliver programmes and for student engagement with teaching and assessment in accordance with planned schedules and deadlines. 2. To support students undertaking specified programmes, and to undertake activities to monitor students' progress. 3. To support the academic administrative processes related to attendance and engagement, assessment, and results. 4. To input student-related and assessment data accurately into the Student Record System (Qlv4) in accordance with University procedures and regulations. 5. To process amendments to student records. 6. To maintain the accuracy and integrity of data held on the Student Record System including regular checking of data in liaison with Registry Officers/Senior Registry Officers. 7. To provide a professional and consistent service to students, academics, internal and external stakeholders, and provide guidance and training on processes, procedures and systems. 8. To maintain effective communication with the student body through a variety of channels, responding to routine and non-routine requests for information and using various data sources, demonstrating a high standard of customer service. 9. To develop a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations related to student administration, curriculum structures and assessments. 10. To assist in the provision of data as required, using established systems to create documents and reports. 11. To assist with student-related events as required. 12. To assist with the Board of Examiners as required. 13. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to support the wider activities of the Academic Registry and University, including:

  • To attend relevant meetings as appropriate and take notes as required;
  • Assisting with Registry-wide events, such as the University's Graduation Ceremonies and Enrolment/Registration etc, undertaking specific tasks as required;
  • To be actively engaged with internal working groups and to proactively implement agreed process changes within the University;
  • Adopting and demonstrating behaviours aligned to the University's values;
  • There may be a requirement for these duties to be carried out across different sites within the University.
  • 14. Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices. 15. Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required.

An opportunity has now arisen for a skilled, motivated and experienced administrator to join Buckinghamshire New University as a Registry Administrator to support Business & Law programmes. You must be organised, have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise workloads as appropriate and be able to operate under pressure in a fast-moving and changing environment. As a first point of contact for staff, students and visitors you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with enquiries in person, by telephone and by email. You will have a good standard of education, excellent organisational skills, be used to working to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and be able to work within existing administrative procedures. You will be able to demonstrate good IT skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word Excel & Outlook). You will need to be self-motivated, and also be able to work as part of a team. Good administrative experience is essential, and a positive and flexible outlook would be an advantage.
