The School of Advanced Study, University of London, is a unique institution in UK higher education. Comprising a set of postgraduate institutes and a variety of central academic initiatives, it is located within the Bloomsbury precinct of the University in the intellectual heart of London. It is the UK's national and international centre for the support, promotion and facilitation of research in the humanities, broadly defined. It does this in collaboration with other organisations, notably the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the British Academy (BA), learned societies and government agencies. - Centre for Latin American Studies, The Registry and Student Services Officer is responsible for administering all aspects associated with the masters programmes; this includes processing student record changes and maintaining up-to-date student records on SITS. The post holder will be the first point of contact for current student queries and will liaise with module tutors to ensure the smooth running of teaching programmes. They will play a full role in registration, including monitoring progress and managing assessment, liaising with course directors to assist in the creation of conditions conducive to award.
To succeed in this role, you must be qualified to degree level or have equivalent professional experience in HE administration. Knowledge and experience of student-facing and university administration is essential, as is a proficiency in the use of MS Office applications. You will also have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and in all styles, and ability to interact with potential and current students in a way which enhances their experience.
