Full Job Description
Avon is seeking a dedicated Regulatory Operations Specialist to join our Regulatory Affairs team for the EMEA region. This UK-based role is crucial in ensuring compliance for our Cosmetic and Home Fragrance products, as well as managing the permissibility of promotional materials.,
- Cosmetic Product Compliance: Serve as the regulatory brand owner for an exciting new product brand as well as a few of Avon's well- established brands. Responsible for product labelling compliance for innovations, reformulations, and relaunches.
- Promotional Claims Review: Collaborate with Global Brand Marketing and Product Development early in the new product development process to evaluate the permissibility of desired claims. Following formula release ensure that claims used on product packaging and in marketing and advertising materials are permissible for use in EMEA countries (e.g. brochure, retail, websites, social media).
- EU and UK Notifications: Ensure accurate and timely EU and UK notifications of assigned cosmetic products, enabling the sale of our products across these regions.
- Home Fragrance Compliance: Review Home Fragrance artworks to ensure regulatory compliance with our internal guidelines and product safety data sheets (SDSs).
- New Ingredient Reviews: Collaborate with Product Development and Sourcing to assess new ingredients for compliance with UK and EU REACh and ensuring alignment with Avon's standards.
- UK REACh Compliance: Stay updated on regulatory developments and registration timelines related to UK REACh. Monitor tonnage of substances imported into the UK in finished products and take necessary actions to ensure UK REACh compliance.
- Regulatory Process Improvements: Challenge, suggest and implement improvements to internal processes.
Degree in Cosmetic Science or a related scientific field (Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Environmental Sciences). - Minimum of 3 years' experience in a regulatory role, ideally within cosmetics, medical devices, and /or general products.
- Strong understanding of EU and UK Cosmetic Regulations, particularly REACh, General Product Safety, and CLP as they relate to Home Fragrance products.
