Full Job Description

  • Takes accountability for a successful implementation of portfolio transfers migrations.
  • Ability to define and implement appropriate processes required to meet the project objectives.
  • Understand and interpret business objectives, goals and targets into tangible deliverables.
  • Strong stakeholder management, to manage stakeholders across different countries, both internally and externally, and at different levels of seniority
  • Collaborative by nature, you'll understand the need to work with other business areas, buyers, lawyers, and regulators. You'll be able to drive activity and understand the deliverables involved, as well as meet challenging timelines.
  • Be confident when it comes to change and able to deal with conflict and resolution, which often hinges on complex dependencies. You'll be responsible for the planning and delivery of projects critical to the success of ZLS objectives.
  • You'll have a naturally consultative approach and will be able to provide leadership, advice, guidance, coaching and direction to project team members.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of any issues affecting the project will be key, followed by implementing remedial action and developing quality plans.
  • You'll be used to working within a governance framework, providing appropriate controls and reporting on project progress, benefits and achievements in a timely and efficient manner.
  • A bit about ZLS: ZLS is a global function responsible for working with Business Units ("BUs") across the Zurich Group to manage their capital. This is achieved by taking onboard management control of legacy portfolios and transacting them in the market through long-term reinsurance solutions or by legal transfer. The team is mainly based in the UK and the US, supporting BUs across the globe. ZLS is a high-profile team within the Zurich Group with direct reporting lines to the Head of Group Treasury and the Group CFO. Further, ZLS is seen as a market leader in legacy disposals across the worldwide external legacy market.

    We are seeking a proactive team player to join the Operations team within Zurich Legacy Solutions ("ZLS") to cover a maternity leave. We expect the individual to be execution focused, calm under pressure, and a problem solver able to navigate and enable the delivery of complex portfolio migrations and transfers. The role is to provide project management for the migration of portfolios to counterparts, including the facilitation of any legal transfer and regulatory engagement. This role would be focused on non-US portfolios across the globe and include end to end project management of IT, Data and People change related to these portfolio transfers. An ideal candidate is a person with a strong project management skill set, with particular strength in stakeholder management and knowledge of insurance portfolio management. Ideally, the candidate would also have a good knowledge of Part VII (or equivalent) transfers, regulatory engagement and experience working on of the transfer of insurance/reinsurance companies or portfolios.   • Delivery of complex projects is essential, alongside the proven capability of managing multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment and adapt yourself and the project as required.
  • Experience in managing or delivering through others without direct line management.
  • You will provide knowledge of a variety of project management tools and have experience in delivering projects using a variety of delivery methodologies, e.g. Waterfall and Scrum.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; in particular experience in preparing PowerPoint presentations to a high standard.
  • Preferred:
  • Delivery of cross-border projects
  • Project management experience in a corporate M&A environment.
  • Report and presentation writing skills for different purposes, including project governance, regulators, and Boards.
  • An understanding of IT and data combined with a high degree of financial & commercial awareness.
  • Working knowledge of the legacy insurance market.
  • Working knowledge of Part VII (or equivalent) transfer process and regulatory engagement.
