Full Job Description

Regulatory services has an exciting opportunity to join a team that is committed to service delivery and helping to shape the future of the city.

The council's anti-social behaviour (ASB) and statutory nuisance functions have been combined together in an integrated team to promote positive outcomes that make the most effective use of the full range of available powers to develop flexible and co-ordinated responses to challenges and opportunities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person with the ability to achieve targets to be part of that team, and play an integral role in the delivery of the Council's response to environmental protection and ASB issues. You will be expected to adopt a flexible and problem solving approach to work to deliver quick and sustainable resolutions to problems of ASB and Statutory Nuisance across the City irrespective of tenure whilst supporting local communities.

Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have a non discriminatory, investigatory mind-set with the ability to think outside of the box, have significant relevant experience of case management processes and a commitment to working in partnerships with the ability to take the lead in a multi agency environment.

The role is a generic role, at level 1, across the Regulatory Services Team. The successful applicant will operate within the Enforcement Hub, which consists of enforcement bodies from within and outside of the local authority. The role will primarily have an area of focus on work to address anti-behaviour and statutory nuisance. However, there will be a need to operate within multi-skilled teams working in partnership to bring about quick and satisfactory resolutions to issues that arise within the City, in accordance with our Strategies, polices and practices.

The postholder will work alongside other level 1 officers, benefitting from support and guidance from level 2 officers, and direction and supervision from a Lead Practitioner.

Salford City Council is committed to developing a vibrant city; one where citizens, partners and staff work together to improve the city and the aim of Regulatory Services is to ensure that anyone living, working or visiting the city does so in a safe environment. Candidates should therefore be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving services

Anyone joining the council is coming into an ambitious organisation. We are working hard to build a brighter future for our city and we need people from a wide range of backgrounds to continue delivering the best for our communities.

Please address the 'what we need from you' detailed in the role profile, in your letter of application.
