Full Job Description

Clinical To contribute to the initial and on-going assessment by recording and reporting feedback to the therapist. To prepare for, and assist with, clinical activities delivered by the therapist. To carry out simple assessments i.e. home access visits, kitchen assessments as directed by therapists To adhere to universal precautions and infection control guidelines, including hand washing and disposal of waste, and ensure effective cleaning of equipment before and after the activity To undertake prescribed therapy activities that you have previously been signed competent for, and report any variances or concerns back to relevant team members To assess safety of conditions and environment prior to in/outdoor rehabilitation activities To explain the process to the client and respond to questions, monitor the client during intervention on the wards and on home visits with no direct To coach other support staff in undertaking prescribed therapeutic interventions, and in the use of specific
equipment To enable clients to maintain and improve their independence by fitting prescribed equipment, demonstrate and educate safe use of To teach the client mobility techniques with a variety of equipments (including wheelchairs) To assist therapists in ordering appropriate equipment for clients To refer clients to other agencies, as advised by therapist To handle and move clients, as indicated, by using prescribed equipment and techniques as detailed in training and be familiar with, and utilise, the services and advise given by the Handling Advisor To contribute to the protection of vulnerable adults from abuse by highlighting and monitoring for signs of abuse and reporting these to the therapist To respond any client questions constructively and to promptly pass on any questions you are unable to resolve, to appropriate professionals To enable clients to maintain their leisure/interests and, if indicated, develop new leisure activities To introduce clients to new leisure
activities as directed by therapists and promote carers involvement in the care of clients To manage your own caseload, time and appointments
