Are you a great communicator and good with people? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Rehoming Coordinator to join the friendly team at Newport on a permanent basis.

Based in Pets at home in Newport, the Adoption Centre supports local branches by providing their long-stay cats a new chance to find forever homes, as well as running a cat fostering network for cats of all ages.

Working hours are 14 hours per week on a variable rota basis, including two weekends a month.
This position offers lots of variety, some of which include providing a safe space for the cats in the centre, tending to their needs, working with adopters and fosterers, conducting checks and selecting the most suitable home for each cat depending on their individual needs plus administration.

What a day might look like for you
Here at RSPCA no two days are the same, as a Rehoming Coordinator we've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like, for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.

Providing care for the animals housed in the RSPCA rehoming unit;
Engaging with the public by answering phone calls and in-person queries;
Promote RSPCA animals available for adoption both in-store and on social media;
Co-ordinate and manage fostering networks;
Facilitating animal veterinary care, including transport to and from the veterinary hospital.

Previous experience working with domestic animals (cats in particular) whilst volunteering, studying or working;
Compassion, with a positive can-do outlook with excellent communication skills
A full and valid manual UK driving licence
Computer literacy and basic admin skills
Confidence in managing social media platforms
Flexibility to work variable shifts including some evenings and weekends
Ability to use your initiative and prioritise to plan your day effectively

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check., Disability Confident
