We're looking for a Release and Test Analyst to come and help us make sure we have the right quality data fuel to drive our organisation. This role will ensure that the RNLI applications and data estate implements change smoothly, so that for users, they can benefit from continuously better systems which are seamlessly deployed, without interrupting their ability to work. You will make sure that our release processes are relevant and deliver on time, to an excellent quality, without issues or unplanned system outage. You will leverage your excellent communicate skills to ensure all stakeholders are kept up to date and informed of any releases relevant to their area., As a Release and Test Analyst, you will help transform the way the RNLI controls its data change by:

  • Ensure changes can be implemented to the RNLI's systems so that the users have confidence that continuous improvement of our systems will mean positive change.
  • You will support the Release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating and managing releases across the enterprise for multiple applications, whether that be operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, or Project-driven change following agile best practices.
  • You will be supporting the Release and Test Manager in implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments using a CI/CD methodology.
  • You'll be collaborating across applications and data teams, as well as with our product owners and customers, communicating clearly and being a 'safe pair of hands' to drive confidence in our systems and change management processes
  • Ensure that the approach is adaptive to small change as well as large-scale implementations.
  • Ensure that entry and exit criteria for test are clearly defined and adhered to.
  • Log and prioritize defects, providing clear and detailed documentation.
  • Communicate issues and risks to relevant stakeholders and work closely with developers for resolution.
  • To become involved in other ad hoc tasks as required

    You'll be:
  • You will have confidence in testing and release practices, trust in data, the ability to plan effectively, and a keen attention to detail that enables you to anticipate and prevent potential issues.
  • You will enjoy the challenge of developing automated approaches that get best value from limited resources, and you will have a passion for the value of embedding good practices and standards in release and test management.
  • You'll enjoy communicating and working with non-technical people on one side and technicians on the other, so that you build confidence that you are a safe pair of hands.
  • Best of all, you'll be looking for the opportunity to use those skills in an environment where you know that what you're doing is making a real difference to the ability of our amazing volunteers to focus on what they do best.
  • You will look to grow your skills to support the RNLI environment as it continues to evolve.

Our purpose is simple, to save everyone. Our crews risk their lives every day to save those who are in danger of drowning, and our volunteers are tirelessly raising the funds we need to support them.
