Full Job Description

Based in the Design Office at Brackley, Reliability and Engineering Process work in the heart of our engineering team across Design, Build, and Testing Departments, supporting a diverse range of engineering projects across the lifecycle of our current and future cars.

As an industrial placement you will be contributing towards the improvement, maintenance, and support of our current design and engineering processes, working with our build, design, testing, and PLM departments. You will take ownership of a variety of long and short-term projects, as well as completing core tasks in support of trackside reliability engineering.

There will be opportunities to establish new processes, contribute towards incident resolutions, design, code and to be hands on with car/testing components.

The majority of projects you work on will be directly guided by reliability issues being experienced on track and within the factory, guaranteeing exposure to a wide range of topics and great opportunities to broaden your understanding of the complete car.

  • At least one year left on their studies at the time of taking up the placement in July 2025.

  • A practical mindset with the ability to apply existing knowledge to unusual problems.

  • A good understanding of fundamental engineering principles.

  • Strong communication skills and experience of working within established teams.

  • A curious and confident mind with a willingness to ask questions.

  • Relentlessly proactive & a demonstrably independent learner.

  • Be studying a degree relevant to engineering and/or systems engineering.


  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as CATIA/3DX, NX, AutoCAD, etc.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform such as: Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI, Dataverse.

  • Experience in the use of modern programming languages (VBA, python, etc).

  • Previous hands-on engineering experience (not restricted to motorsport).

  • A passion for engineering and a drive to succeed.

  • High levels of self-motivation and an open-mindedness to working hours., A broad understanding of the full lifecycle of an F1 car from concept through testing to running on track.

  • Enhanced CAD modelling skills.

  • New approaches to problem solving.

  • Taking your own designs from concept through manufacturing and into use.

  • How to integrate quickly with existing teams.

  • How to apply theories from your university studies to real world projects where there are no 'correct' answers.
