Full Job Description

1 x 37.5 hours per week (between 6am and 8pm) 5 days over 7

We are seeking a Relief Driver/Storekeeper and Kitchen Porter to join our Catering Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering goods to our catering areas in Preston and Chorley using our tail lift vehicle. You'll also play a key part in receiving, checking, and storing catering deliveries.

Additionally, this position involves providing relief support in the catering store or main kitchen, assisting the kitchen portering team when needed., The role is varied and does involve physical work including moving and handling working in chilled/cold storage area and walk in freezer rooms but protective uniform will be provided. Administrative work such as receiving goods temperature recording stock taking. additionally this person will support the kitchen Portering team when required duties include pan washing, general cleaning of various rooms throughout the kitchen, maintaining good hygiene practice throughout the department.

The ideal person will be a team player a good communicator and one who is able to work on their own initiative and under supervision . Previous experience as a storekeeper driver/kitchen porter is desirable but not essential as training will be given. You must have a valid driving license and ability to follow food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
