Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Salford Nephrology service . The post is seen as an opportunity to advance to a level not attainable during General Nephrology training

This post is envisioned as an opportunity to advance knowledge and experience in a specific area of nephrology (kidney transplantation) and will also provide opportunity to undertake clinical research. The post would be suitable for post-CCT fellows or doctors with renal experience earlier in their careers.

Successful candidates, depending on interests and previous experience, will work within multidisciplinary clinics. There will be an opportunity to be involved in research within the areas of multidisciplinary clinics and in other areas in which the department has active research including CKD, renovascular disease, transplantation, obesity in CKD and in the field of dialysis (clearance, haemodialysis access surveillance).

The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of 220 staff including 23 Consultant Renal Physicians based in the Department of Renal Medicine at Salford Royal Hospital who together provide services to residents of West sector of Greater Manchester. The post holder will be employed by Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, will be based at Salford but may be expected to travel to haemodialysis satellite clinics within the West Sector of the Greater Manchester conurbation., The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester.
