Full Job Description

Support delivery of the DDaT (Digital Data and Technology) Telecoms Operations CP7 Strategic Business Plan. As Renewals and Investment Engineer, you will be responsible for sponsoring Telecoms Renewals funded projects, which may comprise the renewal of existing telecoms infrastructure or development and deployment of new Telecoms capabilities. In some cases projects may be funded by 3^rd parties.,

  • Project initiation, remitting, scoping and clarifying requirements, business case development including critical review and challenge, and approach to investment authority and producing investment submissions

  • Stakeholder management and alignment to strategic goals, does the business case still stand, will the scheme deliver what the client / business needs, does the scope of the project continue to reflect business objectives and priorities

  • Oversight of project, management of change and escalation


  • Knowledge of telecoms is highly desirable, although not expected to be subject matter experts.

    Taking an interest and ability to learn is critical in order for sponsors to have sufficient understanding of project scope and objective / customer requirements, to appropriately remit schemes and subsequently provide oversight, challenge and support to project teams.

  • Experience of dealing with project renewals and liaising with people at all levels

  • Ability to articulate complex business problems into manageable work packages and produce synthesised logical solutions

  • Proven ability to write coherently, conveying report / investment information in a concise manner

  • Commercially astute, persuasive, and customer focused

  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills

  • Experience of leading a successful team
