What you'll doAs our Repairs Commercial Officer, you'll play a key role in ensuring that repairs requested by our customers to their homes are completed quickly, satisfactorily and, importantly for this role, cost effectively. Reporting to the Repairs Performance Lead, you and the performance analytics team will oversee the delivery of day-to-day repairs in the 60,000 plus homes we own or manage across London. We're a people business with a mission to work better together for our residents, so we are looking for a confident and effective communicator who enjoys being busy and solving problems and has plenty of enthusiasm. Based from our Kings Cross office, we support flexible working arrangements that foster collaboration, combined with the power of in-person interactions. For this role, we'd expect you to be in the office for at least three days a week to ensure we're at our prime and achieving exceptional business outcomes. How you'll do itYou will be responsible for ensuring the
efficient and high quality repairs and maintenance service is correctly delivered according to the contractual costing agreements, maintaining effective spend control and therefore ensuring value for money is assured for our customers. This will be achieved by overseeing, challenging, and processing submitted cost claims made by our supply chains using our database reporting. Specific duties will include:

  • Measurement and agreement of contractor applications within 48hrs

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly financial reports

  • Material cost management

  • Participation in financial audits

  • Work in Progress/Debt Management accruals and remediation.

  • Check the validity of Schedule of Rates claims, addressing where necessary

If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification. Ideally have worked in either a social housing or contracting maintenance environment, but you will be someone who genuinely puts customers first, has a passion for our vision and mission, and makes our values visible every working day. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be forward looking, with the ability to forecast based on trends. Essential:

  • Experienced in working with Nat Fed Schedule of Rates codes

  • Experienced in working in Repairs and Maintenance

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Data Analysis


  • Desirable:
  • Experience of working in a Social Housing environment.

  • Hold a quantity surveying degree or similar or relevant experience.
