About you
The successful candidate will be part of a larger project aiming to understand and target the (neuro-)biological mechanisms underlying chronic pain, as part of the NIHR-funded Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre. The specific project will focus on the development of personalised plans, educational resources, and continuous monitoring during opioid tapering using cutting-edge digital technology.
It is essential that the post-holder has an undergraduate degree in cognitive neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, psychology or related disciplines.
About this role
The role involves preparing, organising and conducting research to understand patients' needs during the tapering of prescription opioids and to assist the development of digital tools to support patients during this process. The Research Assistant will join a team with extensive experience in basic science and clinical pain research and an interest in creating innovative digital solutions to opioid tapering.
