Full Job Description

Are you interested in working in a dynamic research environment within a Russell Group University? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a post-doctoral research associate with experience in immune cell regulation and in-vivo/ex-vivo modelling of breast cancer and bone metastasis to contribute to an ongoing research project focused on improving immunotherapies for premenopausal women with breast cancer. This Yorkshire Cancer Research funded project will be carried out in the internationally renowned "Ottewell laboratory" in collaboration with research scientists and clinicians based at the Universities' of Sheffield and Manchester and is designed to provide the pre-clinical data that will be used inform a planned future clinical trial. You will work with the principle and co-investigators as well as a clinical research fellow to perform in vivo experiments designed to model effects novel neoadjuvant treatment combinations under pre- and post-menopausal conditions. You will be
responsible for performing the in vivo experiments, analysing tumour burden, isolating and quantifying tumour and immune cell populations from metastatic organs and performing co-culture experiments for ex vivo analysis of tumour cell- immune cell interactions. As part of this role you would also be responsible for helping to train PhD and MSc students in laboratory methods. This project comes with generous funding to enable attendances at national and international conferences and you have the opportunity to write abstracts and contribute to production of research and review articles.
