Full Job Description

To support a wide range of research activities in the field of Immunoparasitology, to perform specific research projects, and to be responsible for the general laboratory facilities. This involves independently performing experiments, contributing to experimental design, consultation with other researchers, data analysis, presentation, and reporting. The post also involves advisory and supervisory roles with respect to ensuring there is a sound scientific knowledge base available and compliance with university procedures and regulations, particularly Health and Safety. Management of the facilities will include maintenance, advice and induction with regard to the procurement and use of equipment and general laboratory organisation.

Relevant experience in the fields of Immunology and Parasitology, with a breadth and depth of knowledge in a wide range of highly specialised techniques (such as : lifecycle management, animal handling, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, tissue culture, flow cytometry, qPCR). Holding a current Home Office Personal License is essential and a minimum of 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience with first author publications in the field of immunoparasitology are all essential requirements.
